SEMICOA has been a leader in the manufacture of transistors and optoelectronics (photodiodes and photodetectors) per Source Control Drawings (SCD's) issued by military and space agencies, and by their contractors since its founding in 1968.

SCD devices are manufactured, screened and tested to customer requirements, as specified in the SCD document package. The SCD devices may be direct derivatives of existing MIL-PRF-19500 devices on which SEMICOA already holds qualification, or they may be custom devices. They may be a blend of our total chip and package capabilities, including chips and packages that are not part of our standard QPL offering.

Requirements that SEMICOA can meet in support of SCD's include:

• Customer source inspection at specific operations
• Selected electrical performance characteristics

The first step in the creation of an SCD semiconductor device is for the customer to specify the requirements in the form of an SCD. In many cases, SEMICOA will work with the customer to assure that the requirements are achievable and will meet the customer's intended objectives.

Following the release of the SCD, the customer will typically provide a Request for Quotation (RFQ) to SEMICOA. Following review of the RFQ package by SEMICOA's Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality departments, SEMICOA's Sales Department will provide a price and delivery quotation to the customer. Upon receipt of the purchase order, SEMICOA will then generate internal travelers to comply with the terms of the SCD for the manufacture, screening and testing of product. During the course of the production process, customer source inspection may be invoked as specified by the purchase order. Upon completion of all requirements, the product built per the SCD will be shipped per instructions in the purchase order.

Although the production of semiconductor devices per SCD's can be exacting and tedious, SEMICOA has a long history of supplying SCD products for the military and space markets. We have participated in nearly all major military and space programs, and have worked with all prime and most sub-tier contractors.
